The Best Homemade Dinner Rolls

Once we made them this way, it got really difficult to go back!

Yield 12 Servings


Cooked Dough Mix

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

2 tbsp water

4 tbsp milk

Yeast Activation

½ cup warm milk

1 tbsp active dry yeast

Raw Dough Mix

2 ½ cup all-purpose flour

¾ tsp salt

1 egg

1 tbsp milk

3 tbsp unsalted butter


1. Place a pot on low heat and stir in flour, water, and milk then remove from heat after 2-3 minutes

2. Mix warm milk and active dry yeast in a bowl and rest it for 5 minutes

3. In a large bowl, add flour, salt, egg, cooked dough, and the activated yeast mixture

4. Add milk, butter and gently knead for 15 minutes

5. Coat the dough with some cooking oil and allow it to rest to rise for 1 hour

6. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place it on a baking sheet then rest it for 30 minutes

7. Brush some butter on top of the raised buns

8. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 375 ºF/ 190 ºC

9. Remove from heat and brush another layer of butter on top before serving

10. Ready to Enjoy!
