Always a hit in our kitchen! We're taking a trip down memory lane to share our favorite Fruit Custard recipe.
Milk / দুধ 2 cups (500 ml)
Sugar / চিনি 3/4 cup
Custard mixture কাস্টার্ড ( Custard powder 2.5 tbsp + milk 1/4 cup)
Desired fruits peel & chopped / ফল কাটা আপনার পছন্দ
Plain sponge cake / স্পঞ্জ কেক
Heat milk in a saucepan over medium heat for 5 mins.
Add sugar and stir continuously to avoid milk sticking to the bottom and burning.
In a small bowl, mix custard powder and 1/4 cup milk, mix until it's dissolved.
Reduce flame to low-medium and add in the custard mixture, continue whisking until custard thickens. Stir well and be sure to not form any lumps.
Once the custard thickens, remove from heat and transfer onto a bowl. Whisk it well to make it smooth. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
Peel and chop your desired fruits into bite size. Add them to serving bowl or individual serving cups.
Cut a plain sponge cake into bite sizes and add them over the fruits.
Pour in the custard and gently mix.
If you see lumps in the custard mixture, using a whisker and stir well continuously. Pour the mixture into a strainer to remove any lumps.
If you plan to store fruit custard to serve later, keep the custard and fruits in separate bowls. The fruits release water and make the custard soggy and less creamy overtime. Before serving, whisk the custard well so it stays even and smooth.
