Persian Chicken Rice

Persian Chicken Rice dish gives out the perfect texture and fragrance. This is a spectacular chicken rice recipe that will be the soul of your next dinner party!



4 chicken quarter pieces

2 tbsp butter

1 large onion

3 garlic cloves

3 small tomato

1 tbsp tomato paste

1 ¼ tsp salt

½ tsp coriander

¾ tsp red chili

½ tsp turmeric

1 ½ cup water

4 tbsp saffron water


2 cups basmati rice

4 cups of water

2 tbsp cooking oil


1. Boil the chicken pieces until cooked

2. Remove from the water

3. Fry the chicken on each side for 2 minutes in butter

4. Remove the chicken from heat

5. Saute diced onion until soft

6. Add chopped garlic, grated tomato, tomato paste, salt to taste, coriander, red chili, and turmeric

7. Transfer back the chicken pieces on the pan

8. Add water and saffron water (1 tsp ground saffron + 4 tbsp water)

9. Cover with lid and cook until chicken is tender

10. Cook basmati rice that has been soaked for 30 minutes

11. Cook the rice for 8 minutes

12. Strain out the water and rinse the rice with cold water

13. In a large pot, drizzle cooking oil and transfer the rice cover with a lid over a towel and cook for 20 minutes on low heat

14. Add optional yellow food coloring before serving

15. Garnish with raisins and pistachios

16. Ready to Enjoy!
