Jhal & Misti Chitoi Pitha

A traditional snack, Jhal and Misti Chitoi Pitha, that we simply love especially in winter evenings.

Ingredients:

Sweet Pitha

2 ½ cups water

2 cups basmati rice

½ cup parboiled rice

1 tsp salt


Jhal Pitha

2 ½ cups water

2 cups basmati rice

½ cup parboiled rice

3 tbsp fresh coriander

2 tbsp onion

2 green chilies



Instructions for sweet pitha:

1. Soak rice for 7 hours

2. Blend water and soaked rice into a runny batter

3. Add water if necessary

4. Transfer to a clean bowl and add salt to taste

5. Coat pitha pan in oil and pour rice batter

6. Cook for 1 minute on high heat then for 2 minutes on medium-high heat

7. Serve with Jaggery and coconut

8. Ready to Enjoy!


Instructions for jhal pitha:

1. Soak rice for 7 hours

2. Blend water and soaked rice into a runny batter

3. Add water if necessary

4. Transfer to a clean bowl and add salt to taste

5. Add freshly chopped coriander, onion, and green chilies

6. Coat pitha pan in oil and pour rice batter

7. Cook for 1 minute on high heat then for 2 minutes on medium-high heat

8. Serve with spicy curry

9. Ready to Enjoy!
