Gram Flour Burfi / Besan Barfi

Make this favorite sweet at home with these simple ingredients. Reminds you of shoan papri but not as tedious to make! Enjoy these barfis straight out of your kitchen.


Ghee 1/2 cup

Gram flour/ Besan/ Chickpea flour 1 cup

Semolina / Suji 1/4 cup

Powdered Sugar 1/3 cup

Cardamom powder 1/4 tsp


  • Heat 1/2 cup ghee in a pan.

  • Add gram flour (besan) and suji, saute for 6-7 minutes at low-medium flame.

  • Stir and sauté until the colour browns and becomes fragrant.

  • Reduce heat, add powdered sugar and cardamom powder. Stir and mix well at low flame for 2-3 minutes.

  • Add sliced pistachio, almonds or any dried fruits of your choice.

  • Grease a pan/mould and pour in the flour mixture. Refrigerate for 2 hours.

  • Remove from pan and cut into bit size burfi pieces.

Best served cold!
