Mouthwatering Dhaba Style Murgi Bhorta


Chicken Preparation

750-gm chicken

1 bay leaf

1 tsp garlic paste

1 tsp ginger paste

1 tsp salt

1 ½ cup water

Bharta Flavouring

3 tbsp cooking oil

3 cloves

1 cinnamon stick

2 cardamom

1 large onion paste

1 tsp garlic paste

1 tsp ginger paste

1 tsp green chili paste

½ cup tomato puree

½ tsp salt

1 tsp roasted coriander

1 tsp red chili

½ tsp turmeric

1 tsp roasted cumin

2 tbsp yogurt + ¼ tsp sugar

1 tbsp cashew paste

½ tsp garam masala

1 cup stock

2 tbsp cream

1 tsp kasuri methi

2 boiled egg

1 tbsp butter


1. Place chicken pieces in a pot along with bay leaf, salt, water, garlic and ginger paste

2. Cook for 20-25 minutes on low heat

3. Remove the chicken pieces and save the stock for later use

4. Shred the chicken using forks and remove the bones

5. Drizzle cooking oil in a pan and add cloves, cinnamon stick and cardamom

6. Stir in onion paste and sauté for 4-5 minutes on low-medium heat

7. Add garlic, ginger and green chili paste with a splash of stock

8. Mix in tomato puree and salt

9. Sauté for 2-3 minutes on medium heat

10. Add roasted coriander, red chili, turmeric, roasted cumin and another splash of stock

11. Add yogurt and cashew paste

12. Mix in the shredded chicken, garam masala and stock

13. Gently mix in cream, kasuri methi, boiled eggs and butter before serving

14. Ready to Enjoy!
