A super quick & refreshing chicken recipe enriched in lemon and pepper flavor. Simple, but Delicious!
Ingredients
Marinade:
Chicken 1 kg
Lemon juice 1 tbsp
Garlic paste 1 tsp
Ginger paste 1 tsp
Black pepper 1 tbsp
Plain Yogurt 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Cook:
Bay Leaf 1 pc
Black peppercorns 5-6 pcs
Garlic finely chopped 1 tbsp
Ginger fine julienne 1 tbsp
Green chilli halved 4 pcs
Black pepper 1 tbsp
Lemon juice 2 tbsp
Water 2 tbsp
Corn starch 1 tbsp
Cooking Directions
Place the chicken pieces in a large bowl. Squeeze lime juice, add garlic paste, ginger paste, black pepper, plain yogurt and salt to taste. Mix everything well and marinade the chicken for 30 minutes.
Heat 4 tbsp of oil in a nonstick pan at medium-high heat.
Add bay leaf, black peppercorns, finely chopped garlic and finely julienne ginger. Stir and saute for couple minutes.
Add the chicken pieces and fry /cook on each side for 10 minutes. The chicken should have a golden brown texture.
Add green chilli pieces, black pepper and squeeze 2 tbsp of lemon juice. Stir and mix everything.
Cover with lid and cook for 15 min over low-medium heat.
In a small bowl, mix 1 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp of water. Mix well and add it to the chicken to thicken the gravy. Stir and mix everything. Once the gravy reaches the desired consistency, remove from heat.
Serve hot alongside white jasmine rice. Enjoy!
