Liver Curry / Kolija Bhuna

Tasty live curry cooked with fried potatoes. Liver is sought out to be one of the healthiest protein and packed with abundant nutrition.

Try this easy quick recipe to introduce liver in your weeknight meals.

Ingredients:

Oil 1/2 cup

Raw cumin 1/2 tsp

Potato 2 medium

Liver 1 lb

Cardamom 4 pcs

Cinnamon sticks 2 pcs

Cloves 4 pcs

Bay leaf 2 pcs

Whole black pepper 7 pcs

Salt to taste

Red chilli powder 1 tsp

Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

Coriander powder 1/2 tsp

Onion sliced 1 medium

Garlic paste 1 tsp

Ginger paste 1 tsp

Green chilli 4 pcs

Roasted cumin powder 1/2 tsp

Directions:

Pour water in a large saucepan and heat it at medium high flame. Add raw liver once the water comes to a boil and stir it well for 1 min. This process will wash the liver in hot boiling water. Remove liver onto a bowl and leave it aside.
Add oil in a large pan at medium high flame. Once its hot, add raw cumin and potatoes. Mix the potatoes with salt and 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder. Fry the potatoes until they are golden brown. Remove potatoes in a bowl and leave it aside. Add more oil to the pan and add onions. Sauté onions until translucent, add garlic, ginger, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder. Mix all ingredients together and sauté for couple mins at medium high heat. Add water as required during sautéing. Add liver and salt to taste. Stir and mix the liver with all spices well. Add water as required and cook for 10 mins under closed lid, stirring occasionally in between. Add fried potatoes and cook again for another 10 minutes. You'll see the water reduced and meat cooked with oil surfacing to the top. Add roasted cumin powder and garnish with green chilli.
Remove from heat and serve hot! Enjoy!
