Delicious homemade falafel that's crispy from outside, soft and fluffy from inside
Ingredients:
Falafel
1 ½ cups chickpeas
1 ½ tsp roasted cumin
1 tsp turmeric
¼ tsp red chili
1 ¼ tsp salt
1 ½ tsp baking power
1 small onion
4 garlic cloves
¼ cup carrot
¾ cup coriander
¾ cup parsley
Sauce
2 tbsp yogurt
1 tbsp mayonnaise
½ garlic clove
½ tsp fresh coriander
1 tbsp milk
Instructions:
1. Soak the chickpeas overnight
2. Transfer the soaked chickpeas into a food processor
3. Add the following spices: roasted cumin, turmeric, red chili, salt, and baking power
4. Add chopped onion, carrot, garlic cloves, fresh coriander, and parsley
5. Blend and create round falafel shapes
6. Deep fry the falafel for 3 to 4 minutes on medium heat
7. Prepare sauce by mixing yogurt with mayonnaise, garlic, fresh coriander, pinch of salt, and milk
8. Assemble falafel sandwich using a pita bread, desired toppings and sauce
9. Ready to enjoy!
