Easy Chicken Shawarma

Tasty tender chicken shawarma wraps make great lunch recipe



1 tbsp pepper

1 tsp coriander

1 ½ tsp roasted cumin

½ tsp cardamom

¾ tsp turmeric

1 tbsp sumac

2 garlic cloves

1 1/8 tsp salt

2 tbsp cooking oil

1 kg boneless chicken thighs

Garlic Sauce

1 cup plain yogurt

3 tbsp mayonnaise

1 tsp sriracha

1 garlic clove

½ tsp lime zest

1 tbsp lime juice


1 pita bread

1 tbsp tomato

1 tbsp cucumber

1 tbsp red onion


1. In a large clear bowl, mix in pepper, coriander, roasted cumin, cardamom, turmeric, sumac, cloves, salt, and cooking oil

2. Coat the boneless chicken thighs

3. Roll the chicken pieces in foil paper

4. Steam the chicken for 15 minutes on low simmer

5. While steaming the chicken, prepare garlic sauce by mixing plain yogurt with mayonnaise, sriracha, cloves, lime zest, and lime juice

6. Mix the sauce well and set aside

7. Unwrap the foil paper and cut the steamed chicken pieces and transfer it to a pan with cooking oil

8. Fry the chicken for 2 to 3 minutes

9. Take a pita bread and spread a generous amount of garlic bread

10. Add slices of tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, and fresh cilantro

11. Wrap the chicken shawarma and serve

12. Ready to enjoy!
