Delicious Doi Mach Recipe

500-gm rui or mrigel

¼ tsp turmeric

½ tsp salt

3 tbsp cooking oil

2 bay leaves

7 cloves

2 medium onion paste

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp turmeric

1 tbsp ginger paste

½ cup yogurt + 1 tsp sugar

¼ tsp garam masala

½ cup water

4-5 green chilies

2 tbsp friend onions


1. Coat fish pieces well with turmeric and salt

2. Fry in cooking oil until light brown then set aside

3. Using a separate pan, add cooking oil, bay leaves, cloves, onion paste, salt to taste and turmeric

4. Stir in ginger paste and sauté for 5-6 minutes on medium heat

5. Gradual splashes of water while stirring continuously

6. Lower the heat and add plain yogurt

7. Sauté for another 2-3 minutes

8. Add garam masala and fish pieces

9. Pour water and add green chilies

10. Cook for 4-5 minutes with lid on

11. Garnish with friend onions

12. Ready to Enjoy!
