Crispy Masala Dosa with Aloo Bhaji

Perfect recipe for a dosa night consisting of delicious crispy dosa with vegetable filling



1 cup rice

½ cup urad dal

3 tbsp gram flour

1 cup semolina

1 tsp salt


2 tbsp cooking

½ tsp mustard seeds

½ tsp turmeric

½ tsp salt

3 boiled potatoes

2 green chilies

1 tsp red onion

1 tsp fresh coriander


1. Soak rice for 30 minutes

2. Place urad dal in a bowl

3. Pour water in bowl to soak urad dal for 30 minutes

4. Blend rice and urad dal

5. Batter consistency should be smooth

6. Sift gram flour into a pot then add semolina and salt

7. Pour water as needed

8. Mix in the rice and urad dal batter

9. Mix well until smooth semi-thick consistency

10. Let the batter rest for 30-40 minutes

11. Prepare filling by tempering mustard seeds in cooking oil

12. Add turmeric, salt, boiled potatoes, and thinly chopped green chilies

13. Mix well and transfer onto a plate

14. Spread dosa batter on a hot pan

15. Place filling on top and spread

16. Cook dosa until golden brown on low heat

17. Gently fold the dosa and serve

18. Ready to enjoy!
