Chilli Chicken

Ingredients to marinate

Chicken breast 250g

Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp

Salt to taste

Red chilli powder 1 tsp

Sugar 1/4 tsp

Soy sauce 1 tsp

Vinegar 1 tsp

White flour 1 tbsp

Corn starch 1 tsp

Black pepper 1/4 tsp


Cut chicken breast into bite size pieces.

Mix all ingredients needed to marinate the chicken in a bowl and make a tight batter. Add water as required.

Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the chicken pieces. Remove to a paper towel and drain excess oil, set them aside.

Ingredients for cooking

Oil 2 tbsp

Ginger sliced 1/2 tsp

Garlic sliced 1/2 tsp

Scallion/ green onions

Onion cubed 1/2 medium

Green chilli 3 pcs

Tomato ketchup 1 tbsp

Soy sauce 1 tsp

Corn starch 1 tbsp

Black pepper 1/4 tsp

Water as required


Heat oil in a pan, add sliced ginger, garlic, green chilli and green onions. Add cubed onions to the mix and saute them well for a few minutes. Add tomato ketchup and soy sauce, mix well at medium high flame for a few minutes. Add water as required. To make a thick gravy, add corn starch mixed with water.

Add fried chicken pieces and saute until the gravy thickens. Add black pepper.

Enjoy Bangladeshi style chilli chicken!
