Aromatic chicken tikka karai recipe is a perfect way to celebrate on any occasion
Ingredients:
Chicken Tikka
1.2 kg chicken pieces
1 tbsp cooking oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp ginger paste
¾ tsp red chili
¼ tsp turmeric
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp plain yogurt
1 tsp pepper
Karai
2 ½ tbsp cooking oil
½ tsp cumin seeds
1 medium chopped red onion
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp ginger paste
½ tsp turmeric
½ tsp red chili
1 ½ tsp coriander powder
¼ tsp chaat masala
¾ tsp Kashmiri chili
1 cup tomato
½ tsp garam masala
1 tbsp ginger
5-6 green chilies
Garnish
2 tbsp fresh minced coriander
Instructions:
1. Marinate the chicken pieces for minimum 15 minutes with cooking oil, salt, garlic, ginger, red chili, turmeric, lemon juice, pepper, and plain yogurt
2. Place the marinated chicken pieces on a frying pan and fry for 5 minutes on each side
3. Infuse chicken tikka pieces with charcoal for about a minute
4. In a saucepan, drizzle cooking oil and sauté chopped red onion until light brown
5. Stir in garlic and ginger paste
6. Pour in a splash of water
7. Add turmeric, red chili, coriander, and chaat masala
8. Sauté for another 3 to 4 minutes on low-medium heat
9. Add Kashmiri chili, chopped tomato, and salt to taste
10. Cover with lid and cook for another 5 minutes on low heat
11. Uncover and add garam masala
12. Add the chicken tikka pieces
13. Cook for 15-20 minutes on low heat with lid on
14. Add ¼ cup of water if needed
15. Uncover and add thinly sliced ginger, and green chilies
16. Mix well and garnish with fresh coriander before serving
17. Ready to Enjoy!
